The iPhone 12 and 12 Pro they hide a very interesting feature that was not presented by Apple during their presentation.
The launch and sale of the new iPhone 12, although not all, is in process. And with the first few units you can test all its functions and features first hand. But, although we thought we already knew all its news, it seems that the new iPhone has an unannounced but very interesting feature.
That is what appears to have been discovered from a document from the US FCC (the Federal Communications Commission). In the same it is detailed that, in addition, of all the functionalities offered by the new MagSafe of the iPhone, it would also allow Apple’s own accessories to be loaded.
Reverse charging would be a hidden feature of the new iPhone and iPhone 12 Pro
This, as specified, appears to be describing reverse charging. Reverse charging, which allows devices and accessories to be charged using the mobile device’s own charging, is already present in many next-generation devices.
Although it is true, its possible presence in the new iPhone 12 and 12 Pro, finally it was not part of the latest rumors and it was not announced as a novelty, neither in the presentation, nor in the specifications of the new iPhone.
But, from what it seems, this function is present in the new iPhone. Similarly to the oximeter on Apple Watch prior to Series 6. Although, unlike with the oximeter, it is very likely that Apple activates the reverse charge in the iPhone via a software update.
And it is that, as it appears in the document, it would be used to load future accessories of Manzana. So it is not unreasonable that Manzana enable reverse charging on iPhone 12 and 12 Pro once these accessories are presented.
What do you think of this hidden feature of the new iPhone? Of course, it can be very useful to quickly load accessories of Manzana such as new ones AirPods or known, but not presented, AirTags.
