At WWDC 2021, Apple unveiled the iPadOS 15. Apple has announced tons of new features for iPad, such as Widgets, Apple Library, Multi-tasking, Translate, and more.
You may already be using widgets on your iPhone and just like in iPadOS, you can add new widgets to your screen and move them anywhere between the icons or on the empty space. iPadOS widgets are larger to use large screen space. You can create widget stacks by drawing and placing one widget on another and then swiping to check it. You see a new widget from Mail, Find Me, Contacts, App Store and more.
App Library is a new feature that appears in iPadOS. Those who do not know, Apple Library allows you to browse various installed apps in categories such as tools, games, office, etc. To combine. On your iPad, the app library is available directly on the Dock. You can also change the order of pages on the iPad home screen or even hide them.
In this new iPadOS 15 update, iPad Safari is now much like the Safari in macOS. It has designed new tabs to easily scroll through more pages. You can create a tab group and name it, share it with your friends and family, or even sync it on Mac and iPhone, allowing you to start work on another device from where you left off. You can not just add extensions in the Safari browsers available in the App Store.
Multitasking – full screen, split view and scroll over
In iPadOS 15, multitasking is enhanced and you can use it to switch between full screen, Split View and Slide Over. When you use a keyboard with your iPad, multitasking is easier for you using new shortcuts. You can use these shortcuts for the multitasking options and can easily switch between Split View and Move Over.
Notes and quick notes
Apple has added new features for collaboration and organization. If you shared notes with others, you can now name people in notes like @Wick and they will get notifications and the activity view that helps you know what changed when you were away. Organizing your notes can mark your notes and it will help you to categorize the notes and find them faster from a list.
Quick Notes is one of my favorite features you can use to take notes while browsing Safari. You might have thought if the browser listed it as a note and added the link to the site with a single tap.
Apple adds Translation to iPadOS 15 and you can translate handwriting into another language with the Apple Pencil. Translate is designed for conversations that make it easier and feel more natural with Auto Translate detecting the spoken language. System-wide translation is also available on iPad, iPhone and Mac with which you can translate text anywhere, just select the text and tap Translate and even you can translate photo text using live text.
This new feature helps you to find useful information in the images, and you can copy, call or even send email with just one tap. You can translate seven different languages from images using the live translation feature.
