Turning off your device’s cellular data or Wi-Fi and turning it back on can help. Closing and relaunching Apple Music is another way to restore the app to normal. And if nothing works, try restarting your device. If the error persists when your device turns back on, continue with the solutions below.

Note: The troubleshooting tips in this guide are for iPhone and iPad users.

1. Disable the VPN

Suppose you’ve played a song on Apple Music before, but suddenly it doesn’t play anymore because, you know, it’s “no longer available in your country or region.” The first course of action we recommend is to turn off your iPhone / iPad’s VPN – if you have any. Due to regional licensing and distribution policy, some songs are not available in some countries. If the song doesn’t have a license for the country your VPN connection is routed to, this error will appear every time you try to play it.

You can turn off your VPN in the app or in the iPhone Settings menu. Just go to settings and turn off the VPN.
