This time we are going to teach how to create an automation of an action, depending on the location we are in. Based on a video from our channel Youtube, which comes from pearls to explain it, we are going to tell you how to configure the iPhone so that, depending on where we are, a specific function is activated or deactivated.

Now, to create a new automation, click on the “+” button that appears at the top right.

On the screen that appears we press the option «Create personal automation ». When we do this we will see that a series of actions is shown on the screen.

We are going to be based on our location so we will click, within the section “Travels”, in “Leave”. After that, we will click on “Location”.

Now we will select the place from which, when leaving it, the function will be activated “Voice control”. In our case we will configure the location of our house. We can expand or reduce, at will, the range of meters in which, when leaving, the function will be activated.

After having it, we give “Okay” and if we want it to be activated at any time, we select the option “Any time”. If we want it to do it in a specific time interval, we will select and configure in “Time interval”.

Now we click on the button “Following” to add the action that we want to execute when leaving the configured zone. Click on «Add action» and in the search engine that appears at the top of the screen, we put “Voice control”. When doing so, it will appear on the screen.

Click on it and we will see that the action is added. We see what appears to us “Activate”, which indicates that when exiting that configured zone, the action will be activated.

We have to say that the action does not activate itself. A notification comes to us saying that if we want to activate that automation created, which we must click on the button “Run” for it to run.

After this we click on “Following” and on the screen that appears, click on “okay”. In this way we will have one of the automations created.

How to disable an action in the automation feature on iOS:

Now it’s time to create another automation to deactivate the function “Voice control” when you get home. To do this, we carry out the same steps that we have explained before, but changing only two things.

  • When we start to configure the automation, we must select “Reach”. This is because we want to disable the function “Voice control” when you get home.
  • At the moment in which it tells us that the action will be activated, we must click on “Activate” to select the option “Deactivate”.
