Bad news for users with iPhone 6S, 6S PLUS and SE (1st Gen.)

A new report reveals which devices will be compatible with iOS 15 and iPadOS 15 and, consequently, those that will not be.

iPhone not compatible with iOS 15

With the arrival of each new version iOS, Manzana launches a list of devices that can be updated to it and in which you can see the absence of the devices that will not. We already talked to you in November about the possible iPhone that will not be compatible with iOS 15 and it seems we got it right.

This is usually disclosed in the WWDC held in summer, but today we have accessed a report from iPhoneSoft where the iPhone that will not be compatible with iOS 15.

If this is true iOS 15 would be compatible with the following iPhone:

  • iPhone 7
  • iPhone 7 PLUS
  • 8
  • 8 PLUS
  • iPhone X
  • XS
  • XS MAX
  • iPhone XR
  • iPhone 11
  • 11 PRO
  • 11 PRO MAX
  • iPhone SE 2nd Gen.
  • iPhone 12
  • 12 mini
  • 12 PRO
  • iPhone 12 PRO MAX
  • Future models of iPhone 13
  • iPod touch (7th generation)

As you can see, of the iPhone that are compatible with iOS 14 are not in the list iPhone 6S, 6S PLUS and SE (1st Gen.). These are going to become obsolete equipment. They will not be able to enjoy the news that the new version of the operating system will bring, for mobile phones, Manzana.

iPad compatible with iPadOS 15:

The future operating system of iPad, iPadOS 15, it will be compatible with the following models:

  • 12.9-inch iPad Pro.
  • 9.7, 10.5 and 11-inch Pro.
  • iPad Air 3.
  • Air 4.
  • iPad 6/7/8.
  • iPad mini 5.
  • IPad Futures

From the list the iPad mini 4, iPad Air 2 and iPad 5.

This is not to say that iPhone and iPad that cannot be updated, stop working. It’s always possible extend the life of these iPhone a few more years but, obviously, they will not be able to enjoy the improvements and news of the new version, which also affects the news that may reach some apps.
